Pure Sex -- Martha Zoller

Pure Sex by Martha Zoller - Feb 21, 2006

While tuning in to Fox and Friends Weekend recently, hosts Julian Phillips, Alisyn Camerota and Page Hopkins discussed a billboard that promoted a website from the Granger Community Church. It was clear from the heated discussion that followed that we are as uncomfortable talking about sex in 2006 as we were in 1956. Clearly, what isn’t being talked about at all is the biblical perspective of sex.

The Bible teaches us that sex between a man and a woman within the confines of marriage is the only way to have a fulfilling sex life. The gift that God gives men and women who follow this path is a fantastic sex life. Since the sexual revolution or the "if it feels good, do it age," we have been led to believe that it’s okay to have sex before marriage. In fact many thinking people think you have to have sex before you get married or else how will you know if it is "good." Believe me, you’ll know it. It’s one of those things that you know without comparison.

This is what I was taught when I was a child. And like most people, I didn’t follow what God teaches us or what my parents told me. When I was about 30 years old, I finally got it. Someone took the time to explain to me that when you have sex with someone, that person is always a part of you and a part of your memory and that you will bring that with you into your marriage relationship. They described it in a way that the light went on and I said, "Now I understand."

To those walking wounded of the sexual revolution, there is hope for all of us. Ask yourself a few questions, are families stronger since the free love era, are children doing better? And have we evolved to a better place for families and children? Finally, are we satisfied with our sex lives?

That "age" you speak of is quite early in origin, actually. As you may recall, the "if it feels good, do it" argument was basically the one that the Serpent used:

"Did God really tell you not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?"

A couple of points worth noting re. the Serpent's remarks:

First, he misquotes what God actually said. Uses the Fallacy of the Planted Axiom, to be a bit more precise, because God did not say "You may not eat from any of the trees in the garden." In fact, those of you who are familiar with various liberal discussion boards will recognize that tactic immediately - the liberal poster will use the Fallacy of the Planted Axiom to "ask a question" which is really meant merely to plant the axiom, the axiom which is not actually established as true. Or, in this instance, the "axiom" that God told His Creature "don't eat from any of the trees in the garden".

Second, it is a frontal assault on God's authority. Again, that's a common theme in our world today, and we see it regularly on political discussion forums, where the attempt is made to reduce every moral to mere personal opinion, rather than Divine Absolute. The idea is "the individual is the ultimate authority, not God". Sadly, more than a few self-proclaimed "Christians" actually swallow that one - hook, line, and sinker. It's especially rampant in the various Protestant sects, which tend to reject the authority of the Church, and are thus left with only the individual as the ultimate authority.

I take it then that you are Catholic?

So do you agree or disagree with the article?

i saw the feature on foxnews and went to both the granger website and xxxchurch .com

not my idea of a real way to help, but i was never a fan of the clap your hands churches anyway. i guess if it gets some people help, but i think it is a ploy to get more youth to their church and eventually bring in more with the collection plates
